CREEK CHARACTERISTICS

Upper Mill Creek

  • Stream development not well-defined
  • Characterized by broad marshy areas
  • Large proportion of precipitation infiltrates directly or through localized depressions
  • Locally gaining/losing stream that conveys little flow at Watson Road (Conc. 10)
  • Much infiltration discharges to Central Mill Creek further downstream, west of Victoria Rd.

Arkell Bog Tributary

  • Promotes infiltration and relatively little runoff
  • Bog is a localized storage feature conveying intermittent flow south to a reservoir/dam structure
  • Enters extensive Class 1 wetland north-west of County Rd. 34, an important storage and re-infiltration source

Central Mill Creek

  • Class 1 wetland complex between Victoria and Brock Roads is a characteristic discharge feature
