Dam Removal & In-stream Rehabilitation

Small dams installed decades, or even a century ago, to support agricultural uses can still be found in many places along the Creek. These dams create ponds that warm the water, sometimes beyond the limits tolerated by Brown and Brook Trout. The Student Rangers removed a rock dam (2003) and log dam (2004) at this location, and repaired and installed wing deflectors and sweeper bundles to improve stream flow and bank stability.
